For the sake of the environment, immersion of Ganesh Idol at home is encouraged by the Pune Municipal Corporation. For same meeting was conducted by the MLA Prashant Jagtap.

Scientific options have been given for the immersion of Ganesh Idol at home. This contributes for eco-friendly celebration of Ganesh festival.

The decision of immersion of Ganesh Idol at the local channels, rivers is prohibited. Shrikant Shete is encouraging the locals to do the same - Ganpati viserjn in tanks.

National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and Muncipal Corporation have decided to immerge the Ganesh Idol in a scientific manner.

Suresh Jagtap, head of PMC solid waste management,said,"Last year,almost 2.95 lakh of idols were immersed in PMC water tanks.

"This year we are going to distribute 50 tonnes of ammonium bicarbonate free of cost among citizens. Each family will receive up to 2 kgs," Jagtap said.

To control and eliminate the pollution caused by immersion of POP Ganesh Idol in rivers , the immersion of Ganesh Idol is encouraged to be done at home in a scientific manner.

"The method will help in reducing water pollution. More and more citizens should come forward for taking the benifit of this initiative," said mayor Prashant Jagtap.

The pollution done by the artificial colour and POP in the rivers due to Ganesh Idol immersion can now be eliminated. For the same National Chemical Laboratory, Pune have come up with a scientific method.
